Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is a designated Military Reuse Zone and is also located within Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) #221. Companies in the FTZ may have customs duties reduced, deferred, or eliminated. Arizona also offers a reduced property taxes for companies within the FTZ, often upwards of 70%+.

In the 2009 season it welcomes two new major league baseball teams – the Cleveland Indians and Los Angeles Dodgers.

- Local geography: The Airport is located approximately 30 miles due East of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The Airport has freeway access immediately to the North via L-202 and US-60, both connecting to I-10 West to Los Angeles and East to Tucson.
