INCENTIVE POLICY

Launch of a new route

  • Discount on landing fees
    • 75% for the first year
    • 50% for the second year
  • Discount on passengers fees
    • 50% for the first year
    • 30% for the second year
  • Conditions for application
    • The route hasn’t been operated for at least 12 months by the same airline
    • The route has to be operated for at least one aeronautical season and on the minimum basis of 24 rotations during summer and/or 16 rotations during winter
    • Night flight excluded (from 10:00 pm to 06:00 am local time)
    • The catchment area of the new destination must be independent of any other served catchment area from/to Nice
    • If a second airline operates the same new route, the latter will benefit from the same discount application for the remaining period.

Launch of a new long haul route

  • Discount on landing fees
    • > 75% for the first year
    • > 50% for the second year
    • > 40% for the third year
  • Discount on passenger fees
    • > 50% for the first year
    • > 30% for the second year
    • > 20% for the third year
  • Conditions for application
    • The route must be equal or longer than 3,400 km
    • The route hasn’t been operated for at least 12 months by the same airline
    • The route has to be operated for at least one aeronautical season and on the minimum basis of 16 rotations during summer and/or 12 rotations during winter
    • Night flight excluded (from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am local time)
    • The catchment aera of the new destination must be independent of any other served catchment area from/to Nice
    • If a second airline operates the same new route, the latter will benefit from the same discount application for the remaining period

Before each aeronautical season, a committee composed by Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, 2 major Airlines, CSTA, SCARA, ratifies the discount applications for each new route.

Bonus for traffic development

  • IATA Summer Season
    • Bonus of €1.50* excl. VAT awarded to scheduled airlines (with traffic of N-1 > 5,000 passengers at Nice Airport)
    • per extra departing passenger above the airport’s summer growth objective (3%)
    • minus passenger traffic that already benefits from new route incentive measures and development contract. (*) Available until summer 2015.
  • IATA Winter Season
    • Bonus of €3* excl. VAT awarded to scheduled airlines (with traffic of N-1 > 3,000 Passengers at Nice Airport)
    • per extra departing passenger above the airport’s winter growth objective (3%)
    • minus passenger traffic that already benefits from new route incentive measures and development contracts. (*) Available until winter 2014/2015.
  • Bonus calculated and paid at the end of each IATA season.
  • Conditions for application*
    • Unscheduled routes are excluded
    • Night flights excluded (from 10:00 pm to 06:00 am local time)

INCENTIVE MEASURE FOR OVERNIGHT PARKING OF BASED AIRCRAFT

Exemption for overnight parking (09:00 pm to 05:00 am UTC) to encourage airlines to base one or more aircraft at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport.

This measure applies to airlines which operate:

  • Routes from Nice to at least two airports located in separate countries
  • One or more aircraft from Nice Côte d’Azur airport regularly during the aviation year, with overnight parking at the airport and with an average of at least 14 weekly flights per aircraft per IATA year.
  • If the aircraft is immobilised, only the first night is exempt.
  • This measure is applicable from April 16, 2012 for scheduled passenger routes for a duration limited to three IATA years.

DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT

Nice Airport Marketing

Contract defining tariff reductions granted by Nice Côte d’Azur Airport to airlines.

  • Contract term: 3 IATA years.
  • Tariff reductions are indexed to the 3-year capacity increase commitment using the IATA 2011/2012 year as a base, according to the airline’s 2012 passenger traffic volume category.
  • The tariff reduction will be granted as retrospective credit at the end of the IATA contractual year on additional passenger traffic in excess of the 3% growth threshold compared to the previous IATA year, with an advance payment made at the end of the 1st IATA season.
  • Airlines concerned: airlines which have been present at Nice Airport for at least 1 year with a minimum of 20,000 passenger departures in the year preceding the signature of the contract.
  • The contract may not be combined with the “Creation of new destinations” and “Seasonal traffic development bonus” incentive measures.
