  • Runway Resurfacing Project

This seven month project was completed in April 2009 and has seen a complete re-profiling, resurfacing and strengthening of the runway as well as an upgrade on the lighting system, bringing this important facility in line with agreed international standards. Despite the runway closing at night the works had no major disruption to airfield operations.

  • Air Traffic Control Complex

The new facility is due to open in spring 2010 as a result of a multi million pound construction project and fit out process. This new facility will offer the very latest in air traffic services. The current facility, which is now beyond economic repair is due for demolition towards the end of 2010.

  • Airside Departures Lounge

Work has now been completed on a £4million investment to redevelop the airside departures lounge at Jersey Airport. The six-month project has seen an overall transformation of this facility, with improved lighting, additional seating and signage. Jersey Airport also boats its own airside stage area which offers frequent entertainment for departing passengers throughout the summer. The new enlarged area has also seen the expansion of the retail outlet provided by World Duty Free, which now offers an even greater range of products. Similar improvements have also been made to the catering and bar facilities, operated by Autogrill Catering UK.
