New birmingham terminal

Hamburg Airport expansion programme

The airport is investing a total of more than €350 million in this expansion programme. Terminal 1 already has a new pier and additional parking facilities have already been built; and the last phases of this project are approaching:

2008

  • Airport Plaza: The Plaza will also be home to a central security checkpoint and baggage claim. The majority of the shops, bars and restaurants in the new Airport Plaza will be located beyond the security checkpoint and therefore exclusive for passengers.
  • S-Bahn connection: By December this suburban train will connect Hamburg Airport and the central train station within just 23 minutes.

2009

  • 4-Star Radisson Blu Hotel with 270 luxurious rooms will open directly opposite the terminals
